Why Become a Delegate?
Delegates and Alternates who are elected by their precincts on Caucus Night will decide which House and Senate candidates to endorse at our Senate Convention. At the same convention you will have an opportunity to run as Delegate or Alternate for the CD4 and State Convention.

What is Caucus?

What is it? Caucus is the ground floor of a Democratic Republic. Republicans that share your polling place (precinct) gather on this one night to elect representatives (Delegates and Alternates) to attend party conventions on their behalf to endorse candidates and conduct party business. They also choose a leader for their precinct to help inform the community and get out the vote in November.

If you haven't attended caucus before, you should, it's real-world participatory civics, a great chance to meet your like-minded neighbors and an opportunity to have your voice heard.

Every two years, the Republican Party rebuilds from the grassroots up, starting with the Republican Precinct Caucus. We use the caucus system to build our organization. In 2026, Senate District 40 will have twenty-six precincts meetings being held simultaneously. Caucus attendees are seated within their precinct. A precinct is a geographical area that shares one polling location, it is the smallest political area.
